Using Claude for Shopify SEO and Content at Scale
AI Content Without the SEO Homework Is a Wasted Effort
Publishing more content faster only helps if it's actually structured to rank. This is a repeatable system for turning keyword research into content that's checked against real technical SEO requirements before it goes live, not just generated and published.
- Human keyword research
- Claude-drafted outline
- Revise until approved
- Generate content sections
- Validate against SEO checklist
- Publish
Step 1: Keyword Research Stays Human-Led
Claude can help you brainstorm angles and group related terms, but the actual search volume and intent data should come from a proper keyword tool. AI is good at expanding a list, not at knowing what people are currently searching.
Here's our core keyword: [keyword]. Here are 15 related terms with volume from
[tool]: [paste]. Group these into 3-4 distinct content angles, and tell me which
ones likely have commercial vs informational intent.
Step 2: Draft From an Outline, Not a Blank Prompt
Asking for a finished article directly tends to produce generic, template-shaped content. Asking for an outline first, reviewing it, then drafting section by section produces something closer to what you'd actually publish.
Outline a blog post targeting "[keyword]" for a Shopify store selling [category].
Include an H1, 4-5 H2 sections, and one FAQ section for potential featured snippets.
Don't write the full copy yet, outline only.
Step 3: Run the SEO Checklist Before Publishing
This is the step most AI content skips entirely, and it's why so much AI-generated content underperforms.
- One H1 only. Don't duplicate it in the body copy.
- Unique meta description written for click-through, not just a summary of the page.
- Product or Article schema added where relevant.
- Internal links to 2-3 related products or posts, this is easy to forget and easy to add.
- Image alt text written descriptively, not left blank or stuffed with keywords.
Step 4: Publish and Set a Refresh Reminder
Content isn't finished at publish, it's finished when it's ranking. Set a 90-day reminder to check performance in Search Console. If a page is ranking on page 2, that's often a sign it needs a content refresh, not a full rewrite.
The Trap to Avoid
Publishing volume without a checklist step produces a lot of thin, similar-sounding pages that can actually hurt your site's overall authority. One well-structured, SEO-checked page beats five rushed ones every time.
